Colorado is one of 50 USA states. Its territory is part of the Western United States, the Southwestern United States, and the Mountain States. The name of the state comes from the Colorado River. It's 8th biggest state in terms of territory and 22nd in terms of population (5.3M inhabitants). With the highest mean elevation of any state as well as the highest low point can be considered the “highest state” of USA. The City of Denver is Colorado's capital.


Colorado is the only state in history, to turn down the Olympics. In 1976 the Winter Olympics were planned to be held in Denver. 62% of all state Voters choose at almost the last minute not to host the Olympics, because of the cost, pollution and population boom it would have on the State Of Colorado, and the City of Denver. Colorado contains 75% of the land area of the U.S. with an altitude over 10,000 feet.


Colorado has more microbreweries per capita than any other state.
