Rabat is the capital of Morocco.The area of Morocco is only slightly larger than California. Morocco is the only African country that is not a member of the African Union. The coastal country is the largest processor and exporter of sardines worldwide. Another major source of income is the cultivation of hashish. The name Morocco for the country emerged from the city name Marrakech. The city now has about 930,000 inhabitants and is often called ‘Red City’ or ‘Pearl of the South’.

Berber women often have facial tattoos consisting geometric forms and signs. This traditional Moroccan symbol of love is the liver, not the heart.
